I cannot create a WebCentral account. My Student ID number or SSN is not found in the system.
WebCentral is only available to current Brooklyn College students, faculty and staff. As long as you are currently enrolled or received an acceptance letter you should be able to create a WebCentral account. Please call 718-951-5383 for assistance. What is my college E-Mail ID (User Name)?

You can create a custom alias for your college E-Mail address by going to the My Personal Info channel, located on the Personal Info tab. Below your BC EMAIL is a Customize link. From there you can select a custom alias for your email. Note: E-Mail aliases depend on availability and can only be used to receive emails. You still need to use your assigned E-Mail ID to login to your email account. preview
I'm a new student; when do I receive my college E-Mail account?
Your E-Mail account is created and available for use by the end of the first week of classes.
My E-Mail account is not working; what should I do?
Please contact the Brooklyn College network support group at: 718-677-6180 for assistance.
Can I access my E-Mail outside of WebCentral?
You can access your E-Mail account directly by going to: https://studmail.brooklyn.cuny.edu. You will need to log in using your E-Mail ID and Password.
Can I use another E-Mail client like Outlook, Outlook Express, POP, IMAP?
You may use any POP3 or IMAP compatible E-Mail client, like MS Outlook Express (POP, IMAP), or a true Microsoft Exchange client, like the one that comes with MS-Office.
What are the rules that govern my new account?
The e-mail account, like many other services at Brooklyn College, is a privilege and subject to appropriate usage guidelines. By using your account, you are indicating your acceptance of these rules and terms. The College may revoke your e-mail privileges at any time if they are misused. For more information, read the BC e-mail policy.
Will I still have my e-mail account when I'm no longer a registered student at Brooklyn College?
As a courtesy, Brooklyn College allows you to keep your e-mail account for up to one year after attending the school.
    What if I already have a non-BC e-mail account?
If you already have a private, third party e-mail account, such as Yahoo, GMail, Hotmail, or AOL, just let us know by adding your personal email address to the WebCentral Personal Info channel (just log in, go to the My Info tab).
Are there special provisions for students with disabilities?
Students with disabilities may schedule an individual session at the ITS Public Computing Labs to learn how to use the e-mail facility and to be given their account information. These students may find e-mail especially beneficial since, unlike paper messages, e-mail can be easily converted to speech or other media. Arrangements may be made at the ITS Public Computing Labs in W.E.B. (951-5787) or through the Office of Personal Counseling (951-5363).

I requested a new CUNY Portal password, but never received an email from CUNY?
CUNY may be using your Brooklyn College email account, or may have an invalid email address for you. To check your Brooklyn College email account, please log in to WebCentral and click the "Personal Info" tab (check the above Student Email Accounts FAQ's for assistance with your email account). If you still are unable to reset your CUNY Portal password, please contact the Brooklyn College network support group at: 718-677-6180 for assistance.
Why do I need to create a separate account on the CUNY Portal to access Blackboard?
The CUNY Portal is completely separate from Brooklyn College's WebCentral. The CUNY Portal is managed by the central office of the City University of New York and shared by all CUNY colleges. Although we hope to eventually link our local WebCentral Portal to the CUNY Portal, technical restrictions limit our ability to do so at the current time.
What services are available on the CUNY Portal?
Besides Blackboard, you can use the CUNY Portal to file for an ePermit (take courses at another CUNY school), access the CUNY E-Mall (student software discounts), access online periodicals and journals and much more.
